After spending over twenty years in the tech industry, I feel confident in saying it’s hard to find good tech service. That’s why I laughed out loud when I saw Staple’s “Easy Tech” advertisement on Super Bowl Sunday.
Just as interesting was my inability to name the organization responsible for the ad. The cliched example of the tech displayed in the ad was a too familiar view. All that stuck however was “the Easy Button” and I tied it to another office supply vendor.
One of my business neighbors, a web development business owner, pointed out my mistake and had my sides splitting when he described his vision of what happened at a competitor who felt the need to respond to the positive reviews Staples has gotten for their ads.
